My baby crawled around inside a playpen, while I sat for 12 hours cleaning the floors, and taking down the wallpaper. Ha! All was beginning to fall into place, but we were nowhere near done. It was going to take a lot of money effort and shopping my favorite furnishings for this house. In order to stay in my budget I took my sons along with me as I searched for treasures in estate sales. Our weekly routine which consisted of spending the week from Friday through Saturday at estate and garage sales, purchasing new and old items. I then spent the remainder of the week working on painting and sanding the driveway. Furniture looked this way... which is the place I discovered my love for restoration. Even though our home was fully decorated, I was unable to stop. I had an area at the market, where I would sell items. Then, I ran out of many pieces to store in the space available. At home, I would host open houses in which more than 1000 people could come in to purchase anything they wanted from the first floor in just one weekend. That's how my company Growing Days was born. While my company grew, so did our little family. The balance was between starting a new business as well as being a mom. Growing Days seemed like the best fit. Nora joined us in 2013 and became our fourth baby. I adored where my business was going, but I wanted a break. I decided to slow down and stay in my home with my kids. This was precisely what I needed at that time. However after a few months after that, the phone began to call. They wanted assistance with interior decorating and renovations. The majority of people who contacted me were from those who visited my home at one of the furniture open house events. In the course of my work I added new customers to my client list each day. It wasn't too long before I had several clients, and had an extremely successful business of home renovation. If you'd have predicted that this venture of mine could become the basis of a television show for the DIY Network I probably would have laughed. Actually I still kind of amused when I think of it.
